Assurance Partners Becomes Newest Member of the Tennessee Captive Insurance Association (TCIA)

Salina, KS - Assurance Partners, a leading insurance brokerage and risk management consulting firm, announced today that it has become a member of the Tennessee Captive Insurance Association (TCIA). In early October, Jim Wilson – President and CEO of Assurance Partners – was recognized as an innovative leader in the industry by his peers of agency principals at the Allied Insurance National AIDCO Leadership Conference. He received one of the highest honors by one of the nation’s leading insurance carriers and was inducted into the Allied Insurance Hall of Fame.

In order to qualify for this honor, the inductee must meet certain criteria such as focusing on new and better ways to create value for customers, adhering to high ethical standards of business conduct, investing time and effort in the development and training of others, and many more behavioral standards.

“It was a great honor to receive this recognition,” said Jim Wilson. “However, rather than referring to this as an individual honor, this is something that our entire organization can share and enjoy as a team accomplishment.”

Alongside the individual’s efforts, the inductee’s agency must be involved in their community, interested in the advancement of the industry, and have a vision and a passion for future results and expansion. With the agency’s reinvestment in the Salina Downtown Business District and expansion into the Wichita area by opening up a branch office in west Wichita, Assurance Partners is committed to the local economy and supporting the families and businesses that exist in the surrounding areas.

Assurance Partners Selected as a Best Practices Agency for Second Straight Year

Assurance Partners has retained its status as part of an elite group of independent insurance agencies around the United States participating in the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”) “Best Practices” Study Group.

Each year since 1993, IIABA and Reagan Consulting, an Atlanta-based management consulting firm, join forces to study the country’s leading agencies in six revenue categories. The agencies comprising the study groups are selected every third year through a comprehensive nomination and qualifying process and awarded a “Best Practices Agency” designation. The selected “Best Practices” agencies retain their status during the three-year cycle by submitting extensive financial and operational data for review each year.

Last year, which marked the start of a new three-year study cycle, more than 1,100 independent agencies throughout the U.S. were nominated to take part in the annual study, but only 217 agencies qualified for the honor. To be chosen, the agency had to be among the 35-45 top-performing agencies in one of six revenue categories.

The agency was nominated by either an IIABA affiliated state association or an insurance company and qualified based on its operational excellence.

The Best Practices Study was initiated by IIABA in 1993 as the foundation for efforts to improve agency performance. The annual survey and study of leading independent insurance agencies documents the business practices of the “best” agencies and urges others to adopt similar practices.


Assurance Partners Expands Reach in Wichita, KS

At Assurance Partners, we serve in stewardship of businesses and families across the Midwest. Assurance Partners has grown to serve the Wichita area over the past 15 years and recently opened up a branch office on the west side of the city. With the addition of an office and a team of insurance professionals on the ground, we are able to serve businesses and individuals in the metro area in a much greater capacity and deliver customized insurance and risk management services to their doorstep.

Our new office is located at 8414 W. 13th St. N, Suite 190, on the west side of Wichita. Assurance Partners is committed to serving the metro area and we are excited to have a new location in west Wichita to be even more accessible to their clients in the area and the surrounding cities.

AP Achieves Allied Insurance Certification

To be considered Allied Certified, agents must commit to stringent customer service training and standards. This makes the agent a valuable resource for consumers who want to know what coverage is available to them without spending extra on coverages they don't need.

To help consumers get the most value for their insurance dollar, Allied Certified agents offer annual reviews. Available to everyone, these reviews involve looking at the consumer’s current situation, discussing any recent or expected life changes, and then reviewing current insurance coverages to make sure the consumer is properly protected. The reviews also provide an opportunity to identify potential ways to save on insurance products.

Workers Compensation Regulatory Notice of Statute Change

Notice to all Kansas employers

Effective 04/25/2013 Kansas legislators recently approved SB 187 that amends the workers compensation statute as it relates to the amount of time employees have to report work related injuries/workers compensation claims to their employer.

SB 187 shortens certain time periods for employees to give notice to the employer of the accident or injury to their employer:

  • From 30 days to 20 days, starting from the date of the accident or injury due to repetitive trauma; and
  • From 20 days to 10 days, starting after the employee’s last day of work for the employer.

Employers are required to communicate the change in the workers compensation statute for all employees. The poster (download link below) accomplishes the notification requirements. Employers should post the notice in a conspicuous area where employees have access.
